LOCATION: Castle Rock Park, Cty Rd Z, Friendship WI
From the South: 24 miles N of Wis. Dells on Highway 13, 5 miles west of County F, 1 mile south on County Z
From the North: South on Highway 13, 5 miles west on County Highway Fm 1 mile south on County Highway Z (A map will be enclosed with your registration confirmation.)
DISTANCE: 1/4 mile swim, 16 mile bike, and 3 mile run.
REGISTRATION & CHECK IN: Friday evening July 22nd - 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the shelter at the Park. Saturday Morning - 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the Park. Registration closes promptly at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday. Briefing begins at 8:45 a.m. at the beach.
RACE TIME: Race begins at 9:00 a.m. sharp.
AGE DIVISIONS: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29; 30-34; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60 & over: Clydesdale (Men over 200 lbs): Athena (women over 150 lbs); or Teams.
GENERAL RULES:
Race officials have ultimate and final authority to remove a participant from the race if the participant has violated the rules of the race or if, in the official's best judgment, the participant is physically incapable of continuing the race without sustaining severe physical damage.
Any participant interfering with another contestant will be immediately disqualified.
Assistance from non-race officials will result in disqualification.
Provided race numbers must be worn on the front and be visible to race officials when crossing the finish line in order to receive finishers time.
No support crews allowed on the course or in the transition areas.
You must obey the rules of the road.
All events will start in and return to Castle Rock County Park.
SWIMMING RULES:
Race will be started in waves of 30. Wave placement will be according to level of ability "Numbers will be assigned on a first registered, first numbered basis, for each category- Elite, Experienced & Beginner" This means the first elite racer to register will be #1, the second elite racer to register will be #2 etc., (the experienced racers will start with #41 and the beginner racers will start with #141.
For visibility, brightly colored swim caps are mandatory.
No paddles, snorkels or flotation devices of any kind are allowed.
No individual paddles or escorts. The swim course will be adequately patrolled by canoes, rowboats or pontoon boats.
Swimmers will be required to have Race Officials mark both shoulders and thighs with their race number.
Walking is allowed, but swimmers who choose to walk must yield the inside line to swimmers who swim (to give the swimmers the shorter distance than the walker/swimmers).
BIKE RULES:
Drafting another bike or any other vehicle is NOT allowed. This is a disqualifying action.
ANSI, SNELL, ASTM & CPSC bike helmets must be work in the bike race. No one will be admitted without one.
Riding your bike into and out of the bike corral is allowed, but must be under caution.
Each participant will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of their own bike. If you are not sure that your bike is ready, take it to a bike shop before race day.
No tandems, recumbents, or fairings.
Participants are responsible for following traffic laws and are solely responsible for the consequences of any infractions.
Bike coraral is closed to all spectators. Race participants only.
RUNNING RULES:
No form of locomotion other than running, walking, or crawling is allowed.
Runners must wear their race number on the front of their body where it is clearly visible.
